Video games vs movies? Has the video game industry taken a big part of the movie industry? You bet it has. The movie industry is faced with stiff competition as video games become more and more like movies. Will the sliver screen era come to an end now?

Is Hollywood doomed to go under? What do you prefer? Video games vs movies? What I love about Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is that you feel like you are your own movie hero saving the world from doom. Video games put you in the story itself, a story that you are in control of. Very few people can resist the allure of power and excitement that a video game offers?

The dilemma for the movie industry is that a lot of games gives the player hours if not hundreds of hours of game play. So when do the gamers have time to go to a movie?

Is all hope lost for the movies? No. When movies came out, people thought that would be the end of reading, of buying books when the movies were introduced to the human-race, way back when. People thought that would be the end of movies, when TV came out. When Video game entertainment came out people thought that would be the end of TV.

The Apocalypse never happened. Why? I don't think its surprising that the more people have the more people want. More stores means more costumers, so developers do their best at cramming in as many stores as possible into one location.

It is impossible to compare video games vs movies because they are two different things entirely. One is active, one is passive.

I believe that each give us different experiences, for different times of day or moods. Being active is not always for me. Playing video games is becoming like sports. The purpose of a movie is to passively kick back and be entertained, to sometimes romantically watch a movie with your partner. Sometimes I want to be the best I can be, a hero, that is what a video game gives me.

So what is the problem? Getting people into the theaters. How do they do this? By creating gimmicks like real 3D, or combining the film concept with a video game release. I think the real trouble is in the cinema itself. With VOD fewer and fewer people frequent the theaters.
